Daryl Aw is the Founder of Skybots Pte Ltd, a Singapore-based firm specialising in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Robotic Process Automation (RPA). Skybots has delivered over 1,000 automation solutions and AI-powered chatbots, helping organisations across multiple industries improve productivity, streamline workflows, and equip teams with practical digital tools.

Daryl specialises in designing and deploying AI copilots and ChatGPT-style agents for finance and accounting teams, enabling organisations to adopt AI meaningfully in day-to-day operations. Under his leadership, Skybots works closely with clients to embed AI and automation into core business processes, delivering measurable improvements in efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.

Beyond consulting and solution development, Daryl leads hands-on AI and RPA training programmes that focus on real-world application rather than theory, empowering professionals to build and use automations confidently within their organisations.

Daryl is the only Chartered Accountant globally to be awarded the UiPath Most Valuable Professional (MVP) title twice (2024 and 2025). He is also a two-time AI Award winner (2024 and 2025) and was the Champion of the ISCA RPA Hackathon 2021. He currently serves on Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants’ AI Solutions Sub-Committee and works with Workforce Singapore, Singapore National Employers Federation, and Employment and Employability Institute on national upskilling initiatives.

Prior to founding Skybots, Daryl was a lecturer at Singapore Polytechnic, where he led RPA and sustainability projects and was nominated for The President’s Awards for Teachers in 2022. He began his career as an auditor at Ernst & Young Singapore and is a Chartered Accountant under ISCA.

Today, Daryl leads a team of former accountants and auditors, building automation solutions that are technically robust and deeply aligned with real-world finance and business workflows.

Our RPA journey began in 2018 at Singapore Polytechnic, where Daryl Aw was then an Accounting lecturer in the School of Business. As part of the final-year projects, accountancy students worked on real automation solutions for real clients and this became the foundation for something bigger.

Our first industry partner was Bernard from Audit Alliance, who graciously shared his firm’s audit processes. With his support, we built our very first RPA robots designed to automate audit workflows. The success of these early bots sparked wider interest in automation across the accounting industry.

These projects helped shape the Accountancy Industry Digital Plan by IMDA, and we worked closely with The Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountnats (ISCA) to roll out some of the first RPA training programmes and use cases in the sector, a significant milestone for the profession at that time.

Since then, we've expanded our efforts:

• Supported the RPA Adoption Support Scheme by the Singapore Accountancy Commission, helping firms fund and implement bots.

• Collaborated with the National Council of Social Service (NCSS) to develop RPA solutions for social service agencies.

• Launched sustainability automation initiatives at the polytechnic, including building a sustainability dashboard and training teams to use automation for ESG reporting and practical climate action. 

In 2023, Daryl left academia to start Skybots, with a mission to scale automation faster and build better bots tailored for industry needs. Since then, we’ve built over 1,000 RPA bots, conducted numerous digitalisation programmes, and helped companies worldwide save time, cut manual work, and boost productivity.

And in keeping with our mission to democratise automation, we became the first accounting tech company to offer free, fully customised AI chatbots built specifically for the accountancy industry worldwide,  helping firms everywhere take their first step into AI without barriers.
